“Cake Boss” creates tasty tribute to BSA’s 100th Anniversary

Here’s a sweet piece of news: Buddy Valastro, better known to millions of viewers as the “Cake Boss,” created a one-of-a-kind Boy Scout-themed cake to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America.

The cake was one of many highlights in last night’s star-studded 100th Anniversary Gala held on Ellis Island and hosted by New Jersey-based Patriots’ Path Council.

Three of the notable attendees are pictured above. They include (from left) Joe Piscopo, comedian and the gala’s emcee; Buddy, TV star and award-winning pastry chef; and Chief Scout Executive Robert Mazzuca. Talk show host Montel Williams was also at the event.

On the TLC show “Cake Boss,” Buddy creates signature cakes for weddings and other notable occasions. Past episodes have shown Buddy and his team making a 40th anniversary cake honoring “Sesame Street,” a life-size replica of a race car, and a candy-coated creation for Dylan’s Candy Bar.

But if you’re involved in Scouting, his latest masterpiece, well, takes the cake.

The three-tiered piece is based on the well-known Norman Rockwell painting “The Scoutmaster.” It will not be featured on “Cake Boss” because the show is finished filming for the season. But you can still take a closer look at Buddy’s edible work of art, right here:
