It’s Arbor Day, and you can help make a difference

If a tree grows in your yard, does it make a sound?

If you’re talking about one of the Boy Scouts of America’s Centennial Trees, the answer is yes. The sound it will make will resonate across the country.

That’s because all trees purchased through the Arbor Day Foundation and the BSA have a double impact. Your yard becomes beautified by the addition of a 2- to 4-foot-tall tree, and the newly created Boy Scouts of America Centennial Forest gets bigger.

The Centennial Forest will help revitalize the Flathead National Forest in Montana after
recent fires there. The formula is simple: purchase a tree for $20, and the Arbor Day Foundation will plant a corresponding tree in the Centennial Forest in your honor.

It’s a great way to celebrate Arbor Day this year. And it’s another example of Scouts leaving this planet better than they found it.
